Gillenia Trifoliata
Gillenia trifoliata, commonly known as Bowman’s Root or Indian Physic, is a graceful perennial that brings an airy, delicate charm to gardens. This North American native plant is known for its slender, wiry stems topped with star-shaped, pure white flowers that create a cloud-like appearance when in bloom. These blooms, which often have a slight pink tinge at the base, appear in late spring to early summer and are held above dark green, trifoliate (three-lobed) leaves that turn a striking red in the fall.
