Chojuro Asian Pear Tree
These deeply sweet and flavorful Asian pears are honey-brown in color with abundant fruit set and decent shelf life, storing several months when packed carefully in a fridge or root cellar. Fruit ripens on the tree; the brown tone is a sign that they are ready to pick. Harvest period is late summer (August to early September). Crunchy and delicious! Grow with another Asian Pear variety for best pollination.
These are two-year-old, bare-root trees from our farm partner, Full Circus Farm, in Pine Plains, NY.
All of our pear trees are offered on OHxF 97 root stock. OHxF 97 leads to “standard” fruit tree size, 18-20 feet high, and is a vigorous, hardy root stock that boasts resistance to fire blight.
